When downloading the traditional PDF for this lesson, it's blank :/

The measure word for "pair" is missing from the traditional PDF, but I guess it's 雙?

I think the word for "hair" on the traditional PDF is wrong.  Should be 頭髮, not 頭發.

Doh.. I think it's a joke from the earlier episodes. :/ I just listened to the previous one end it was mentioned again.  Kinda funny tho.

Is it just me or did Ken call Jenny "Johnnie" twice during the recording?  Or maybe I've been listening to too many podcasts... oi

Changye, thanks for chiming in!  I was beginning to think I was crazy.  I'm sure to a native person they hear it as "shang" in the wordly sense, but I just can't hear a bit of "s" in there at all.

Thanks for clearing up the "shei" "shui"... I never knew that... good stuff!

I don't know Jenny.  I can kinda of see how I might be wrong with the 出來, but I definitely hear no "s" sound whatsoever in 上.  I totally agree with you how even in English things don't sound the same as in isolation, but is this a case of that?  In other words, is it typical to leave off the "s" in "shang4" sometimes?

Also in the expansion,誰的名字, 誰 sounded a lot like shui.  I'm sure it's pronunced properly, but i'm just wondering is it a dialect thing, or more loose style of speaking?  This is the first elementary lesson out of 90 that I've had difficulty understanding the pronunciation.

Is it my bad hearing or does it sound like the 師傅 doesn't pronounce the "s" in 上?  It sounds like "hang".  Is that a common ommitance?  Also 出來 kind of sounds like 出了.

Am I the only one who loved the old jingle?

The new one is definitely cool and fun tho!  Kudos
