March 10, 2009 at 7:41 PMI enjoyed tackling last week's advanced lesson, so I'm at it again this week.
I have a few comments about the PDF--
The pinyin for "ne" is missing its corresponding character. ("tang2cu4pai2gu3 ne hai2 shi4...") The pinyin is at the top of page 2, the characters on page 1.
The opposite problem is on pages 3 and 4. At the top of page 4 it reads, "...guang1liang4 ru2". But the characters read "光亮如新". So I believe the "xin" is missing.

March 8, 2009 at 5:23 AMI have to say something about the translation: "Extremely unique" is poor English. If something is unique, it is one-of-a-kind. You can't be "extremely" one-of-a-kind. This is a common error.

March 8, 2009 at 5:14 AMI'd like translations too.

March 5, 2009 at 4:36 AMNext I'd like a lesson on The Lord of the Rings, please. Or Battlestar Galactica. Or Babylon 5. Ok, that last one is a little obscure, but a girl can hope.
Forgive me because I did not understand most of the lesson, so maybe this was discussed, but I have always wondered where the Chinese names for non-Chinese stuff comes from. I don't suppose there's some group of people in China thinking up the "official" translations of things. 哈哈!

March 5, 2009 at 3:34 AMFYI-- I got an error on videos 3 and 4, "This video is not available in your country or domain." I'm in the US.

March 1, 2009 at 9:44 PMI didn't mind the lesson. It was short and sweet.

February 27, 2009 at 4:08 AMSome general comments--
Thanks for the fascinating lesson! I've never thought about Mongolian language. The Wikipedia article on it was very interesting.
My husband tells me that there's a difference between "sheep" and "lamb": A lamb is a young sheep.
Your attempts at throat singing were fun to hear.

February 26, 2009 at 9:40 PMQuestion: I've only had my Premium subscription for a few months, so I have some "credit" money. If I renew my subscription to last another (total of) 12 months, does that get me the 3 months of Guided?
If that is not clear:
I bought a 12-mo subscription in November 08.
It is now February 2009.
I would pay to extend my subscription to February 2010.
Would I qualify for the 3-mo guided promotion?

March 10, 2009 at 7:45 PM@bababardwan : very funny. What's that first thing, "Bewitched" something? Maybe I don't want to know.
I'd like to say to any English learners out there (because I know some people use ChinesePod to learn English): That poster is NOT a good example of English.
Ok, there, I said it. :)
