Can you say that to a child in China? If you were to say that to a child where I come from I guess you'd be accused for child abuse. I'm not saying we are more civilized or something, just that cultures are different.

Buying gifts is such a trouble... However in Sweden we will celebrate 2010 Mother's Day on May 25th, so there's still some time before I need to decide what makes a nice gift. :-)

April 19, 2010 at 1:38 PMMe neither. If you use firefox you can add the "Mandarin popup 0.5" plugin; It's a mouse-over dictionary for reading chinese characters on web pages. Really nice :-) I had to go back to firefox 3.5.9 though since it's not compatible with the last firefox update.
www.nciku.com and http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php are good online recources for looking up words.

I noticed there has been a change in the community-conversation listbox. I frequently go back to read my old discussions about grammar which used to be easy by just clicking "my conversations". I guess that entry is replaced by "all replies to me", but since it doesn't work with the old discussion layout (the one without threads) it's merely impossible to get back to the old posts.
Is there a way to solve the problem?

I agree with you zhong_bide; I'd like to have a qing wen on the different ways of expressing future too. E.g. 明天你会来吗，明天你可以来吗，明天你要来吗... What's the difference between those sentences?
