gesang, urbandweller, mudpud

I found some information on nciku:

双 shuāng
1. [adjective] two, even, double
2. [measure word] pair

Example:
一双筷子 Yi1 shuang1 kuai4zi5. A pair of chopsticks.
双人房 Shuang1ren2fang2. Double room. (a room with two beds in a hotel)

Hi,

is it possible to use 放在 fang4zai4 (shui3 li3) instead of 放到 fang4dao4? Is 放到 one word or two words (verb+preposition?)?

helandou,

哈哈, 弄错了! haha, wo3 nong4cuo4 le5! I got it wrong. However, after joining this community and talking to people all around the world, I would not be surprised if some country had it. I see a lot of things that I never heard of before.

You are true about the scaring method. We are beginning to have it in my country as well. I don't reckon why. But it's all day long: eat this or you will be fat, drink this and you won't have bad breath, do this, do that or else... Maybe it's a way to make us scared and by a lot of crap that we don't need. Greed, actually.

Look at the pictures/lines on cigarette packs, the governmental alarm about terrorism etc.

Do you have a picture of that? The alarm about terrorists, I mean.
We have "Smoking causes lethal lung cancer" and such on our cigarette packs.

These clips are from a movie called unser täglich brot (our daily bread). There is no dialogue. Only moving pictures and sound. Makes one think one and twice before buying food.
I have started to buy food that obeys the rules of "krav" (a swedish association). If food producers follow the "krav" rules they can use the krav logotype on their products. "Krav" ensures good environment, good care of animals, good health and social responsibility: No artificial fertilizers, no insecticides, no weed-killers are allowed. The producer must provide good social conditions for the workers.
Of course krav food is more expensive than conventional food. However, it tastes better and lasts longer. Last time i bought broccoli (first time krav) I could eat it all before it got bad in my refrigerator. That doesn't happen with conventional broccoli. Ususally, I won't be able to eat all before it goes bad.
Is there any krav-like ideas in the other poddies' countries?

Hi CPod,

why is there an extra scroll bar in the exercise tab? My point is: there is already one on the right side of the page. No need for another one, 对不对?
Should I go to the user voice page and create a post for removing it or is it a quick fix?

Joking aside, as for "太空人", the 太 and 空 in the word means "giant, extreme" and "space" respectively.

Thanks Changye, I didn't know about that. I found that 太空 tai4kong1 means outer space.

My association was plain physics-like. Not so philosohpical. Stuffed things sink. Empty things float (fly). 比如:太空猪.

太空人. The literal translation is "too empty person", right? Am I the only one ROFL here? Very humorous word i IMO :)
