August 29, 2007 at 3:21 PMJenny and Ken: you should have begun by taking this one "from the bottom"!

August 27, 2007 at 1:57 PMDoes "dou" always immediately follow the pronoun it is modifying or intensifying? Is it equivalent to the us in "all of us are hot, tired, etc.?" I've seen it mainly following pronouns in the cpod lessons but does it work with non-human animate beings-- All of the birds are flying south or inanimate nouns All of the orders have been lost When do you use everyone vs women dou?

August 26, 2007 at 2:56 AMIrek, switching over to IE did the trick. Thanks for the tip. I never use IE. So I guess now I'll have to use it just for cpod.

August 24, 2007 at 12:41 PMIs anyone else having trouble loading the expansion soundbytes? This function used to work perfectly but starting this week with the changes in the site, it has ceased to work. Only the first byte will play; the bytes take forever to load and then when the system says they've finished loading, none but the first will play. If you have had the same problem. how did you solve it?

August 24, 2007 at 12:37 PMSorry to post this technical question here but I've not been able successfully to post it elsewhere. Does someone know the cpod forum's moderator's email? I'm trying to post to the forum and can't log in and need to contact the administrator but the administrator's email seems not to be correct anymore. If you know it, please email it directly to me. Thanks.

August 22, 2007 at 3:06 AMUseful idiomatic expressions in this lesson. I was waiting for you to drop in some chengyu--e.g., cǎo mù jiē bīng (be in a state of extreme nervousness).

August 21, 2007 at 1:10 AMIs Li Jingli the same as Li Zong? I thought Peter was going to dump this supplier after he found out that they weren't in compliance with Chinese labor law.. So what's up? Peter is going to be bought off by a bunch of labels? Maybe Peter's looking for an excuse to get out of the deal. How do we say "looking for an excuse?"

August 20, 2007 at 12:16 AMFor some reason, none of the expansion sentences (apart from the first one) will play.

September 9, 2007 at 6:40 PMGreat to hear a lesson featuring that bothersome little word "wei". I like elementary lessons featuring prepositions because I find that to carry on any sort of real conversation with my Chinese colleagues, I need to be able to use prepositions.
