Although, this was well above my level I really enjoyed listening. I found it a great ear training exercise - all those words and structures I didn't know were still a great tune-up to sound and rhythm.

What I found distracting, and didn't enjoy, was the  audible hubub of conversation that ran underneath throughout the entire podcast. What was it, and why?

frosty, for the PDF file in traditional characters, append "trad" to the end of the file name before the extension.  (e.g. for this lesson chinesepod_D0945.pdf becomes chinesepod_D0945trad.pdf)

Tvan, I tried this without result. I have a mac. Is another approach required, perhaps?

Hi can anyone explain what Jenny replied at the end of the dialogue when John said something along the lines of, 'of course, Jenny, you know how to write it (hanzi for penti/sneeze)

Thanks

Nice lesson. It might also be nice to remind your listeners, CPod that Taiwan is run entirely from Taipei by a government democratically elected by the Taiwanese people. Its regional status is not accepted by the majority of the Taiwanese. Cheers.

Yes this tone set of lessons is great. And I'm interested in that Matthew's book that's been mentioned above. Could someone who's used it tell me if they think it could be adapted to use with Traditional characters? Thanks.

Off topic, I know, but I'm looking for the traditional hanzi plug in page. I stumbled across it a couple of weeks back and haven't been able to find it again. Thanks.

3C is no more than the name of a particular large electrical appliance/computer store. There are branches everywhere. I don't think its a generic term for electronic stores, though its possible that the store has poached some actual electronics term for their name...

Nice lesson. The last couple of Intermediates I've listened to have been pitched at a good level for the move up from Elementary. As to the debate over cold. Its not about viruses as such, surely, but weakening the body's defense mechanisms, which then allow viruses to do their work.

Oh, and I'd like to add this was a great lesson. Contrary to poster above, I thought Ken was very on-form. Made me laugh, anyway. And I'm looking forward to developments. I'm expecting some shudaizi action for Yang Jie.
