If you say 'Māo zài lǎoshī de yòubiān', that means the cat is on the right side of the teacher.

When talking about directions, 边 and 面 are interchangble. The subtle difference is, 面 is more closer to the surface. But in normal circumstances, people don't usually differentiate so closely.
In your examples, both 右边 and 右面 can be used.

当“脱”的动作完成了，“把......脱了”和“把......脱掉了”都可以说，意思一样。
比如：
1.我把衣服脱了。（这里的“了”有两个作用：a. 表示动作的完成。b. 表示动作有了结果，跟“掉”的作用一样。）
2.我把衣服脱掉了。
当“脱”的动作未完成，是一个命令或是即将要做的。可以说“把......脱了”和“把......脱掉”， 但是不能说“把......脱掉了”。
比如：
1.快把衣服脱了。（这里的“了”跟“掉”的作用一样，表示动作有了结果。）
2.快把衣服脱掉。
3.快把衣服脱掉了。（不对）
