那么如果是学校的校园卡呢? 比如说,我去学校里的一个餐厅,然后问服务员我能不能用校园卡, 我能不能说“打卡” ?

I've known the word 幽默(yōumò) for years, but I've never thought that it sounds anything like "humor" or "humorous". 幽 is yōu, which begins with a "y" sound; "humor" is with an "h" sound. I'm inclined to think that this word 幽默 was originally pronounced differently, as in some kind of dialect in which it sounded like "humor". I really doubt that it went from English to Mandarin, because the two words don't sound alike at all

Hey Chinesepod,

It would be nice if you could add the grammar section for this lesson. I know there was no grammar section feature when this lesson was published, but it would be cool if you could add it for this one

Question about AA制 :

Why is it with the letters "AA" ? What is the etymology of this? Because with all of the others, such as T恤, it makes perfect sense why they are the way they are.

Also, a related question for all the poddies: How many of you knew or heard the expression "going Dutch" before you began learning Chinese? I learnt it while studying Chinese, and I don't think I've ever heard anyone say this. I even thought it might be Chinglish, but then found it in an English dictionary
