...and while we're picking up on such differences, in a you say toMAYto I say tomahto kinda way, I noticed John pronounced "goatee" as "goaTEE" with stress on the second syllable, whereas I'd say "GOATee" with stress on the first syllable, which to me seems a little strange because the name comes from a goat, but by stressing the second syllable you don't get that vibe.

Interesting because 公共汽车 was the first word I learnt here for bus, but then later people seemed to say 公交车 was more common. I'm wondering if it is more region dependent. Where are you now George?

I like Rachel's broadening of the definition except I think she was going too wide by adding "but are of little interest to men" as I think a lot of men either openly or secretly like them too, hehe [ I hope this doesn't invite a "real man" comment...ouch!! hehe]

..hehe, I guess I've never thought about that, but I'll have to give you that one. As unnatural as boy toy sounds to my ears, it does make more sense.

maybe, but I'll still contend with you on this one that as the term was used to liken such a beard to the chin of a goat, stressing the first syllable makes more sense and the way John said it sounded more like "go TEE" as in "go tee off over there mate with all those 小混混's， 这里就是为了性感的高尔夫人 "
