Thanks mate.It was great hearing your input in this episode.It's great being able to visualise things about the characters and mafan is close to my favourite Chinese word [Amber has me sold on that one].Fascinating stuff.

Re:"CPod Alliance of Heroes" .I would agree with this term.I'm just wondering though;is this a phrase you coined on News and Features episode 19 when you were introduced as a new team member,or does the phrase predate that?

You must be over in Taiwan getting ready for the big race hey?Good luck [or should that be;good management ?].I had someone tell me yesterday of these marathons in the Gobi desert where they do something like 5 marathons in 5 days.Now that sounds mafan to me!

What does GRMPF stand for? The only thing I could find was "lautmalerei, für den biss in den eigenen hintern" which made sense and made me laugh,but I couldn't see where those letters came into that.

Thanks for that.Actually,I just realised how unclear I was with my question;sorry.I realised they meant the same thing and that the er is a Beijing speech habit.I was just clarifying whether I was hearing the difference correctly.Also it seemed a bit loose in the other tabs.For example I think in the final listening test of the exercises it pronounced it wanr2 but if you entered that it gave it as incorrect and you had to enter wan2.Even though they mean the same thing,I thought you would correspond the pinyin with the pronunciation ? I was also trying to clarify that even though wanr2 is spealt with an "n" in there ,I could not hear any "n" ,only the "r".

ok,so Jenny pronounced it as wan2 ,and the dialogue and the tabs pronounce it as wanr2.The latter doesn't seem to have any "n" sound in it as far as I can hear? In the vocab section it is written as wan2 but pronounced wanr2

I found the wife on the phone a bit hard to hear initially but did eventually attune to it.Good practice though if I'm to understand Chinese on the phone.It's great the language is put in so many formats like this.

I love the drawn out hao by the hubby at the end.It spoke volumes.lol.

So "这山望着那山高 Zhè shān wàngzhe nà shān gāo" is something like:

This mountain is looking up in honour at that mountain.

or

This mountain is regarding that mountain as higher.

No mention of grass ,but effectively the same saying hey?
