Pete,

Thanks;you have a wonderful and charitable imagination to ponder that..but I don't think so [at least not for my part...miantiao's line was good and apt],hehe.Just having fun here and playing with the words. Not aiming for anything profound, hehe. :)

zhenlijiang,

I'm not good enough to comment on grammar but what you were saying made perfect sense to me which is the main point of communication anyway.I think your ideas on netting a mei nu are probably going to surpass mine,so don't let that hold you back.I look forward to next time. :)

Pete,

I simply got that breakdown from mdbg here.I don't know where they got if from though. But as you say,it will help remember it anyway regardless of the true origin.Interesting.

Interesting breakdown of 重阳:

重....double

阳.....yang2...from the yin/yang sign because it looks like a 9

...hence,double 9

.."putting aside your daily concerns to go share some simple pleasures with a friend"...very nice.Enduring wisdom that can so easily be neglected in the rush of every day life.Gotta make it a priority and plan for it,or heck,do it on the spur of the moment.Ganbei Pete !

Perhaps the explanation as to why the 包真的是太重了[bag really is too heavy] lies here.

All the "Molly in Moscow" type introductions had been making me think that either QingWen has not been getting requests and has been having to make up it's own questions,or the names have been changed to protect the innocent.I thought the idea was for Poddies to ask questions about anything relating to Chinese language that was unclear. But comments here have made me look back at QinWen's introductrory blurb and I see there that the questions are meant to be taken from Practice Plan learners. As this is presumably a much smaller pool,I'm now thinking it likely that QingWen has been making up it's own questions. However I note Jenny's comment above welcoming questions for topics.Obviously some questions aren't going to make for a great QinWen episode [and some may, unbeknown to the asker who hasn't gone through the archives, have already been answered],but if I'm correct in suspecting that there is a lack of questions out there, then sending in requests should be an easy solution.Where is the best place to send such requests? If on the other hand there is a flood of requests, then it's either up to CPod's discretion,or it could be voted on somewhere.I also think that if QingWen has been mostly aimed at the Newbie/Ellie level, then this means that there are heaps in the archive that I doubt most newbies/ellies have had time to go through all of them, and it may be time for some higher level QingWen's.But of course we still need new newbie/ellie ones as well.Perhaps clearly identifying the higher level QingWen's with the level they are aimed at so as not to discourage newbie/ellies.
