hehe,speaking for myself I would say I'm no way near any teetering [how nice that must feel] as I'm intermediate but every now and again it's nice to jump in the deep end [and the deep blue water of Avatar was particularly enticing] and see how long you can tread water before you drown....

Here's what I had for that section:

In the first section of the movie:it's the year 2154,and a land development company called RDA has come to a place called Pandora to open it up for development[alternative translation here...exploit a resource] ,and they appeal to everyone [meaning the Na'vi] that as long as they move their home territory they'll be compensated.For the most part the inhabitants say this is their ancestral home,and that even for a lot of money they're not will to go,there's no better place to live.The developer at once got very angry at this.This development company actually has a semi-Government background,and it's leadership has a few with the disposition of hired thugs [ ? but appear to be the city manager?], so as a result they start fighting.However the inhabitants have a few strange homemade weapons,such as bow and arrow,stones,and also unnaturally large pets such as a long necked horse,?thunderbolt beast,and men and women and old and young are all very difficult to deal with,and moreover the topography involves a lot of complex rugged mountainous paths,the mobile phone signal dies there,and therefore the developer for a while is unable to [?handle the situation...or get a mobile phone signal] [and not just a few of his people are injured],so at this point the developer thinks of sending "Avatar" to go and act as an undercover agent to help direct them.This so called "Avatar" plan is actually to disguise one to make him look like a local inhabitant to spy on their [?stategic moves],to understand the terrain,[?to split up the Na'vi so as to bring them down??],all to give the developers the optimal plan for taking the land from it's owners.

It's really good to see your translation too as it's interesting to compare how you interpreted it [which is obviously a better and more accurate effort than mine],so thanks for posting this mate.I'm interested to see that you translated:

"But the residents of the "street " "

..as I thought jie meant street also but I couldn't really see how "street" applied to the setting in Avatar [unless I'm forgetting something].

I really struggled to translate the section you have translated as:

"The development company was vexed, this company was actually affiliated having the government, in their back pocket were a couple of violent by nature thugs, just like federal bureaucrats, started the fighting."

...I never thought of the back pocket part or that the thugs were just like federal bureaucrats.

I'm afraid it's full of errors and omissions and I've only managed just over a minute and a half of it so far ,but I've tried to highlight in red the areas where I was particularly uncertain or didn't have a clue.Hopefully not too many errors in the bits I left black.At least I hope it's enough to give you the gist and pick up a few words you might be interested in.
