Really looking forward to the lesson on camping. It did make me curious though...is camping popular in China? It's certainly popular here in Australia but I can't say I've heard too much about native Chinese camping and for some reason that I can't explain I have the feeling that it's not something that would be popular amongst Chinese. I am happy to be set straight and regardless am really looking forward to the lesson. Certainly there would be so many areas that would be awesome to camp in so I'd also like to hear if it's popular amongst tourists and where they often go.

thanks John. oh yeah of course, tone of voice trumps all as always. I wonder how they would interpret those two phrases in a novel. I guess in that case it would be context dictating. I suppose I was thinking of those two sentences in isolation without tone or context but of course language does not work in isolation usually.

...you mean "telegraphic" ? ..if so ,yeah, perfectly normal thing to say ,it's just that he said it quite a bit so it's a classic Ken quote if you know what I mean.

doh, because I was on subthread and your inserted photo was lined up perfectly with that forgot you weren't. I've found it hard to get the size right in subthread insertion of photos previously. Still a great pic.

hehe, dangran [ oh ,of course]. I guess I've got so used to Chinese being "telegraphic" [as Ken used to say] that I just accept stuff that would seem to be missing something were it in English...like the "cheming" of the chemistry. Thanks for explaining :)
