toianw,,

Thanks for an informative reply, including the specifics of how to flag 'em down. Makes sense.

The most interesting comment in the lesson for me was Jenny's comment about there being no hitch hiking in China. I'd like to know more about this. I seem to remember tvan once mentioning hitch hiking with a truck driver [ though I have a feeling this was late 70's so maybe the situation has changed since then]. Is it now illegal? Even if it's illegal, does that mean it never occurs? If Jenny just meant it's rare, is it considered dangerous? Are the same hand signals used as in the west? [ I guess I'd be inclined to do a big sign in Hanzi of my intended destination....forbidden city ...or Shangri la or bust, hehe] .Here in Australia it's relatively uncommon, and is generally considered dangerous. Once when I was in Ireland it seemed much more commonplace, even with young kids doing it. I'm not sure if that's still the case there.

I agree, a series would be great.

I don't think the ability to save them is new, but I agree it's good to be able to add them to the flash cards.

我最喜欢的台词是:

你好,我叫Inigo Montoya。你杀死我爸爸。准备死了。

whoah, cool. I read that he's the highest ranked Chinese player. You must go on N&F if you're ever down in Shanghai. Good luck. Jiayou.

ps. I'm not sure how long you've been lurking or what level you're at, but in case you hadn't seen it, here's an Ellie lesson on tennis:
