November 1, 2010 at 1:27 PMIt used to be limbo, but now:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/1549439/The-Pope-ends-state-of-limbo-after-800-years.html
I think the little ones should have an express pass. But how harsh does this sound:
"In the fifth century, St Augustine concluded that infants who died without baptism were consigned to hell."

November 1, 2010 at 12:53 PMoh, thanks for explaining that. I wondered if there would be a Flemish dialect involved [not that I could tell that from the language...it just looked like Dutch to me] . Nice pic...pics are great for explaining. :)

November 1, 2010 at 12:38 PMYou're reminding me of the film "Fly Away Home".
You're comments are also making me wonder whether pretzell has specifically heard it commonly applied to kids. Otherwise I would have thought gaggle of geese was very common and pretty much universal in the English speaking world. After all, it's their measure word isn't it?

November 1, 2010 at 11:35 AMthanks Jack,
Do you have a take on what that means?
I guess the lines mean candles AND balloons
Also was this line:
"Because tomorrow is
All Souls"
..there in the Dutch [at least it looks like Dutch to me..is that right?]

November 1, 2010 at 9:55 AMthanks for posting that tal. Adults putting on their "talking to young children" voices is something else to tune into, hehe. Also the character in the suit and likely similar characters in such kids shows also add an extra challenge...a different frequency to tune into...though in many ways it's easier as it's simple language, slower and repeated. I'd love to know a good link to watching more kids shows.

November 1, 2010 at 9:24 AM"an often noisy or disorderly group or gathering"
pretz, I think it comes from Middle English, but maybe you're right in that it's more common in the US now. I think I have heard it used that way here but very rarely I'd say outside of it's application to geese. That's interesting as I would have still thought of it as an English thing.

November 1, 2010 at 1:59 PMok, cool. thanks mate for clarifying. Interesting. I've never heard it on any American shows that I can recall, so I'll just have to make it to the US if for no other reason than to get the real deal and see these gaggle of adults, hehe.
