Hadn't seen the Handian one before. Interesting, but as you rightly suggest [when you say "This advantage is of course also a problem".... ] it wouldn't be my first port of call. I'd go there if stuck on the nuance of a word or as you say it was some rare word. Nice to have that as a backup for such occasions though. Ok just checked out it's first special use...that's a different way of going about getting a popup function. Worked fine.

for me it went to the 基本解释【hehe, smart webpage] because that and the xiangxi tab are at the same web address. But it was easy to find the xiangxi tab.

Hey mate, that's awesome that it goes through it like that. Great resource. I think it's very informative seeing the history of these words and I think it deepens understanding and helps make the connections..see how they tied in. Thanks for pointing that out. Cheers, baba :)

Sometimes you need to put them through a photo editor to reduce the size of the image file [you can reduce the file size while still keeping the image the same....it just uses less kb...not a difference you'd notice in a pic as small as an avatar anyway]. Also, sometimes it doesn't like certain file names. Good luck. :)
