His love for [?his culture?...sorry selfcontrol...I may be guessing wrongly here...anyhow, love for the Chinese culture] reminds me a little of one's love for one's child....you view them as so precious, so perfect, you don't want them to change, you wish you could cause time to be suspended indefinitely. However, you know they must continue to grow, to mature, continue to move with the times, this is inevitable, and what they evolve into is beautiful too at every stage, and does benefit from all the positive influences that come to bear.

Yeah meicuo is for saying that someone is correct in what they just said.
bucuo is for saying something is pretty good. So yeah, I think they convey different meanings and aren't really interchangeable.
