excellent. I look forward to listening as soon as I've posted scanned and posted something in the handwriting group. I'll still be looking for signs that I'm right and it just hasn't been explicitly said though.

I haven't listened yet, but I can't help but wonder if this is our friend drummer boy [just look at his smile....obviously has a nvpengyou he can really beat his drums [and his chest] about now...I think the noises of the night can only increase for our 倒霉邻居。。泰山【Tarzan】吃你的心脏]

Wonder if he'll end up scoring our daomei de ren's job too. Reminds me of trading places. Maybe there is some higher force playing god afoot after all. Let's go listen in on the laoban's next [heck, maybe they're so rich they could afford to blow off some 客户 and threw that baseball]

"every now and then you'll witness a conflict"

how often is every now and then ne? ...and do you reckon they'd mind if I video taped it on my iphone for educational purposes?[might not catch all the language..both verbal and body language, and other relevant info like social status, other subtle bits of info there...it might all happen too fast....so being able to replay it later could be mighty handy] should I interrupt to ask permission for this, or just take it as a given it's ok?

..this reminds me. Many places have parts of town you are advised to avoid. I guess China is likely the same. For example is there an area in Shanghai that is advisable to avoid, and does this depend on time of day?

I think now would be a good time for this guy to ask for a raise. 究竟[after all], he was clearly bravely defending his boss by 骂ing the guy behind his laoban [boss] that nearly side swiped him [though granted his laoban may have missed that due to his excellent attention to the pedestrians in front]. zaogao [drats], that side-swiper has, like a coward, taken off now.

haha, as always, another great final line in the dialogue. Love the change in tone of the actors voice..gotta admit it made me laugh.

hey, hehe, I hadn't read this when I replied to you above. hehe, yeah viewing things from a "luck" kanfa must be comforting at times if you can bring yourself to believe it. Haha, a sign from the heavens...

"it was only an issue of poor observation on my part"

..haha, exactly. Same if it was a bird from above when you're sitting under a tree. Perhaps a bit unlucky if you're out in the open and there weren't any birds to be seen, but still, where was your umbrella? I'd probably consider it somewhat bad luck if it was a Hitchcock birds type situation 'cos you just don't expect that...and my were those birds determined. Hang on...I'm actually thinking Mel Brooks "High Anxiety"

ps sorry about your gf mate but in time you'll see it was a blessing in disguise [how to say that in zhongwen?]. You are destined for greater things.

"I just like chatting to the DVD guy, and his daughter, and his wife, and his mother 等等 。。 :) "

..haha, I can totally relate to this, though I see the need for it as much greater here than where you are. Not that you shouldn't have your fun mate, it's great when you meet people you can chat too and get a good flow and rapport with. :)
