August 6, 2011 at 2:59 AMAh, here we have another of the great mysteries of the universe...why the Chinese ellipsis has 6 dots and English only has 3...why is it so?..and what does it signify? ...this could keep me pondering for hours......

August 6, 2011 at 2:57 AMI think I recall Changye once saying that punctuation was hardly used at all in Chinese originally. I'm under the impression it was adopted from the west. I'd be interested in further comment on this. Also, if anyone is wondering how to type 顿号 、on my google pinyin input at least it is the key above the right shift key [to the right of the comma key].

August 6, 2011 at 2:54 AMthanks mate. I did think of that but when I listened again it still didn't sound like bean to me. But as you've said it, maybe it was bean after all.

August 2, 2011 at 6:10 AMI presume by :”血脚印“..."footprints" ..they do mean footprints [in other words made by going barefoot] and not shoe prints. How often do folk walk about barefoot in China, I'd like to know? I guess indoors the tradition is always. What about going between room 203 and the basement? ...I guess in all the excitement footwear may not be thought about. But anyhow, if it actually refers to shoeprints, of course Wuguoqing could have just swapped his shoes on to the young guys feet after dragging him to back to the cellar where they'd been locked up the last couple of weeks and maybe he was knocked off in a separate incident [maybe debt collectors from his gambling debt....stealing body parts for the black market ...transplant organs, maybe prostheses] ...or maybe his fruit business is in competition with Lao Wangs latest venture and Lao Wang wasn't going to stand for any competition.
