I'm referring to a tv series produced in Japan and dubbed into English in the late 70's and here in Australia was called "Monkey Magic". It was more simply called "Monkey" elsewhere:

If the above list of transcript queries is too long, I've made a shortened list of more important ones below:

0:24 Jenny: 【

"Your concern relates to the economics of photography and web publishing, I think. I daresay CPod does not have time or budget to commission its own photographic lesson illustrations. Rather the image was likely chosen by CPod from a limited pool at whatever low-cost picture library it uses (Alamy?). Such picture libraries are likely to be based outside China and feature a majority of non-China specific shots"

很有道理...actually I'm pretty sure it's been mentioned before where they get em but don't recall the name, though "Alamy" isn't ringing any bells. Yeah, don't think the nationality of the folk in the avatars is important. Just commenting on your observation, hehe.

hmm, I didn't read the body language that way at all [that is, I'm not reading "Get the XXXX out of my personal space, man"]...but you were rightly going on context...the context of the lesson and the girl in the avatar looks like a waiguoren, but our point of difference is based on an observation about these avatars historically here at CPod. ie a large number of them are of waiguoren even when they're referring to Chinese characters in the dialogue. So based on that, I'd take the girl in the pic as a "Chinese" lass who's stressed about her upcoming English exam [and the rest is, as they say, history...or at least the dialogue that follows in this case}. hehe, Now hopefully if I've got your debating back up, we'll hear what you do have to say to the above post [noted with interest]. Cheers mate :)

ps, Interestingly in this case, the lass has dark hair and could almost pass for being part Chinese...is that the suggestion...or at least looking for it being possible

good story. I was just thinking that it seems to me that the majority of Swedes speak English anyhow, so that 接口 may well be 不行 or at least rouse a small degree of suspicion [but of course this brings up the old ...how aware are Chinese of foreigners..esp when it comes to a specific nationality...so I can see that excuse would fly). Just looked it up and it seems that close to 90% of Swedes speak English. 标准 may be another issue though I guess.

Chris, Zhenlijiang, smallville, toianw and myself have collaborated and produced a transcript of this lesson here:

...but there still remains the above words that are unclear. Any help with the above words would be much appreciated. :)
