Oh, terrific podcast! My city of origin! My heart jumped in excitement when I saw this lesson. Yeh! I've not been there for many years, but this lesson makes me long to go again...and have 小吃. 谢谢你们。

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Yeah, my mom is a hoot. She is a retired teacher; she is used to speaking in front of people and is very comfortable in front of the camera. It makes me so very happy that poddies enjoy what I share : ) The second video, light, is about a little girl and a doll. I can't translate it right now, but I will try to get to it...unless someone else wants to tackle it ; )

This thread has been going for so long I forgot what the original MM was...then when I looked back, I remembered what movie it was, and how schizophrenic I sound...first I love the MM...then I hate it...哎呀!

When I was in Beijing this March, our tour group went to the (apparently) famous Tong Ren Tang pharmacy which has been in existence for more than 300 years. I didn't know it but apparently they are producing many of the Traditional Chinese herbal remedies in pill form so you don't have to spend all day cooking and reducing a barrel of twigs and bark down to a cup of edible medicine : ) We also met some TCM (trad chin docs) doctors as well one of whom was fluent in English and explained TCM really well to the group.
