Note that in some cases, 还是 and 或(者)是 is not interchangeable.
你想吃中国菜 还是/或是 法国菜。
你的手指甲要涂红色 还是/或是 蓝色的指甲油？
明天的天气是晴天还是雨天？ In this case, it is not an option, but a general fact, therefore we cannot use 或是 in here.

June 20, 2019 at 1:24 AMI'll say 討厭 is hate and 不喜歡 is dislike. For example, 我不喜欢吃香蕉 I don't like it, but it is acceptable. 我讨厌吃香蕉, that means I hate bananas.
爱 is love and 喜欢 is like, you can see the difference when saying 我爱你 and 我喜欢你.
