peekung:  You can start reading and writing typing Chinese characters using a Pinyin IME and an interactive dictionary. Later, for serious character study, in addition to the resources here, I recommend Skritter.

@john: well then, I expect that we'll be updating our status via twitter in the near future.

Would it make sense to be able to update our ChinesePod status via Twitter?

I've been on twitter and following chinesepod for a few weeks, but  I still don't find it all that useful as I never have the urge to go out of my way to log into twitter.  Maybe it works better when receiving/sending tweets via a cell phone?

I loved this episode of DA.

I like the vegetarian meat because it tastes delicious.  In my opinion it doesn't really taste like meat.  Anyone in the DC area, who wants to try out this Buddhist cuisine without travelling to a temple in China,  I highly recommend Yuan Fu Restaurant in Rockville, MD.  It's so yummy.

I for one cannot wait to go to China and eat  lots of (mostly) vegetarian food.  I'll definitely take the advice of this episode and not worry about little details. One other great thing about Chinese cuisine for vegans, that wasn't brought up, is that dairy seems to be so rare.
