March 11, 2010 at 10:21 AMI had lasik done 8 years ago. I went from -6 diopters (600du) in each eye to near perfect distance vision. I still wear glasses to read, since that is an age related thing called presbyopia for which there is no cure, but I would do the surgery again in a heartbeat. No more coke bottle glasses. Nobody likes anything touching the eye but you can stand it for 30 sec. I dont believe anybody has gone blind from lasik, there are some horror stories about starbursts and double vision but they have learned a lot over the years. I do believe it is safe now - just find a guy with some experience. I know they do it in China bcause JP (of cpod fame) had it done in Shanghai. I only wish I could have done it earlier in life. Its definitely a personal choice, but I do recommend it.

its very common in english to say I cant live without something to mean I dont wish to part with it. Such as - "I just cant live without my morning coffee" or "I would just die without my coffee". Of course you would not, but these exagerations are common. If that was the root of your question. I just thought you didnt like tacos or tortillas :-)
Actually I think it goes like this:
I cant bear to be without my dog =
life without my dog would be unbearable=
I cant live without my dog
which really means you wont live without your dog.
Or am I barking up the wrong tree here?

December 31, 2009 at 9:03 PMWelcome jianqing. You are correct, 潜水 is as you say. Chinese is often very cool. John celebrates every time a lurker surfaces, but he is no doubt enjoying an unusually sound sleep right now, brought on by the excesses of New Years Eve.

oddly enough, you just click the box under the comment entry box that says "convert to tone marks."

A crêpe (English pronunciation: /ˈkreɪp/, French: [kʀɛp];
actually, I also pronounce it crepe. I always liked crepe suzettes but having been raised in a hungarian family, we called them "palacinta".

Proofreading, "prooflistening", and launched internet material checking, are definitely areas of "opportunity" for cpod. I am confident that this will improve however.

我只做爱了一次跟外星人了

This reminds me of the time someone complained because the girls (connie and Jenny) were being mean to Pete. There has always been a schtick associated with this show. JP used to complain that connie threateded him physically. Its part of the show. They are actors. I would think you would understand this. If it truly made connie uncomfortable I dont think it would go on. And since when are the words "make love" profane or worthy of a pg-13 rating? You can hear this on any prime time tv show, why not here?

Do your homework, I certainly did mine before getting in that chair. No problems in Cl water and the eye does not deteriorate faster. The procedure is done by an opthamologist, which is an MD who has completed a surgical residency involving the eyes, as opposed to an optometrist who does your standard eye exam. There are a lot of considerations. Too many to write about here. The cost in the US is from $2000 - $4500 for both eyes. It is cheaper in China.
