Dave - its a genetic thing. Not everybody is flamable. Or so I hear. Cows on the other hand, well, no smoking!

I tried to buy a very cheap extra suitcase to bring stuff home in and the flame test was a big part of the sales pitch. Im hoping flame-proof is not a part of what is needed in the cargo hold of a plane. There was no getting out of watching the show however and then they feigned disbelief that I was not impressed by their theatrics.

In a way, "night cat" does make sense as used in this story. "Tom cats" (male cats) do cruise the dark alleyways late at night looking for female cat "companionship". This is referred to as "catting around" when applied to people.

Ingmar, in english, bow wow is used as a representation of dog barking in childrens books for example but you are also correct. Woof woof is often used as an onamonapoeia.

Adorsk- yes, it is very common to use the word "bad" to mean good in street language. Actually means more like "cool". Bazza- if sick means good, I missed that one. "Dude thats sick" would mean its bad in a perverted or twisted way (to me). I could be wrong but I have never heard it used in the way you suggest.

Hi Jenny, wow, 猫头鹰! I like it. You have to love the Chinese language. Im not sure why they would frighten you however :-). Owls are supposed to be "wise" as in "wise old owl". The Owl makes the sound hoooo, hoooo in english. What does he say in Chinese?
