fiul - they are crickets. note the following excerpt from wikipedia: Cricket fighting in China dates back to the Tang Dynasty. In southern China, particularly around Macao, cricket fighting had been a popular pastime. Many famous hotels around Macao held cricket fights where bets up to thousands of patacas would be waged on a single fight. Prized crickets became famous and actual funeral services would be held for them. Crickets had pedigrees and would be carefully bred by knowledgeable keepers. Keepers kept their crickets in fighting shape with a carefully controlled diet. Ground worms, fish and water chestnuts was a popular diet for protein and nutrients. In some cases, even veterinary care and medicine was administered to keep a cricket in fighting or breeding shape. Also, everyday a new female cricket was provided for the champion, during a time of three months. Cricket fighting has become a popular past-time in Northern America. Although police athorities have not made it illegal to host these events, government officals are currently writing legislations to prevent further acceptance of this ever growing Chinese sport.

I was listening to some old lessons in the car the other day (I just bought a new Kia spectra that I love btw but the final selling point was that it has an aux jack so I can play the ipod through the car speakers. no more earphones.) and even though the chinese lesson was solid, it is very obvious how much the cpod team has grown and developed in organization and delivery. The difference is quite profound and impressive. This group has become quite professional and very good at what they do. I understand why they would want to re-do some old lessons now. The new ones are so well done that they make it sound easy. I guarantee you it is not. Great job guys. -RJ

"the know-it-all, the clown and the not so smart are 3 fundamental personalities in every stage of socialisation". - you're a bright gal Jenny.

Keep practicing Art, but for now lets let Jenny et al keep writing :-) You are right about the mars venus thing but it gets worse when you cross cultures. How do you know when a Chinese gal loves you? So much mystery.

A familiar theme here: Gal = smart guy = goof (傻瓜)(shagua) Reminds me of a lot of recent US sitcoms where the gal is bright and the guy is an idiot. Some agenda here? I wonder who writes these? :-) nice lesson though.

mikeinewshot, I also tried this and could not connect to the server. There is another download out of south African that worked but my QQ number is only 7 digits. I dont think its the same although there were a few people from SH registered. Im guessing we cant use the China system from the west but I would love to know differently if anyone knows how.
