April 6, 2008 at 6:53 PMChicago has more bars per capita than any other city in the US. I vote for the "second city" to get a lesson.

April 6, 2008 at 3:48 PMAh Detroit is "po" all right. Since I grew up near Cleveland which is not too far from Detroit, I have been there but not since I was a boy. Cleveland is not doing much better than Detroit. The "mistake on the lake" did better for a while but then economic forces have led to a mass exodus. I think we have the only river in the world that ever caught on fire, and a mayor (Ralph Perk) who is famous for his hair also catching fire. We were until recently the world headquarters for BP which like many others, left a few years ago. Poor city management and political infighting have led to a failure to attract new business.

April 1, 2008 at 9:36 AMnational public radio usually does a good spoof story on april 1st. These are usually pretty good. I remember one about exploding maple trees in new england (if thery werent drained) and another about a milk pipeline. They do it so serious that it takes a minute for your own good sense to say, hey wait a minute. I wonder what story they will run this year.
