Correct. Any girl that requires extra effort to keep everything going smooth and cool is "high maintenance". The material part is the easy part. Its the psychological black holes that you want to run from. And yes, bossy fits in here somewhere. A little maintenance can be sexy, as Im sure is the case with dear Amber, as her comment points out. How do you say fatal attraction in Chinese?

July 20, 2008 at 1:39 PMWill Clay be the new Chinese lightweight? (John has the heavyweight title). Is ken out shopping for suits? Remember, there is always a risk to taking a day off. Careful Clay, I hear Ken has Schlotsky photos.

July 20, 2008 at 1:10 PMClay- nice job - all good except that when Ken is here, he is the boss. I got the distinct impression that Jen was in the driver's seat and that she would have clobbered you straight away had you resisted. You are in her backyard now. Tread carefully :-).
All kidding aside - well done.
I would have opted to keep the girl however. Never got the vicarious thrill through sports on tv thing. I guess one of my guy genes is broken - or maybe I got two of the other one. It works out well though. There are a lot of lonely women out there when the "big game" is on.:-)

July 18, 2008 at 10:29 AMClay,
so what is being eliminated? You said you were going from 9 shows to 8 per week but you are adding (although you choked already) Cantonese. Unless you got it backwards, we are then loosing 2 of something else. What is it? Just the regular lesson mix will slow down a little? Or did you mean from 8 to 9 shows by adding Cantonese?

this one was a bit wordy but I dont think you can blame it all on Ken. He sets em up and she knocks em down, as they say. I dont recal Changye mentioning Ken either. Anyway this is why the dialogue only mp3 and the very powerful expansion sections are available, but I guess you need premeir membership for both of those. I only listen to the full lesson once. After a while Its like coffee with way to much sugar. I do find their explanations valuable but I prefer the literal translations at the end as opposed to the paraphrasing in the first pass. I want to understand where the meaning comes from - I can paraphrase myself.
