February 10, 2009 at 1:32 PMLast week I heard amber was alive and doing well with a possible job offer lined up but she didnt want to say too much in case it didnt work out. She recently visited Canada and was scheduled to take a Mandarin proficiency test soon. We all know how she will do on that.

what you say makes sense but I guess it depends on how they get paid. How does a taxi driver make his money? Are they paid a percentage or by the hour? They do seem to abhor the short trip. If they are paid by the hour this would make sense but if paid on commission you would think it would be as you say. Perhaps Cpod should interview a SH taxi driver. We may learn a few things.

thanks for the clarification. I think Chinese women are sensitive to being called fat but maybe they make a little more room for context than american women would. I just came back from SH as you know and I did notice this time several fairly pudgy young boys (9-10 yrs) - also with some behaivioral acting out going on. Never saw this before. That and a white french poodle with green ears and an orange tail were the only new things noted.

So what is involved in the yearly check? What kind of things do they look for? Just wondering in case I ever need to apply for a work visa.

February 9, 2009 at 4:57 AMCrazyfish- dont tell them where you are going until you get in. Then follow your conscience. Tip if you like. The 11 kuai minimum is in place already to protect them from short fares. You need not feel guilty.

If I were in Japan I would not be complaining. Girls buy for the guys. How much better can it get? Which reminds me, I need to do some quick shopping for some valentine gifts. it seems most women dont care if its a conspiracy or not. How shallow and pre-cerebral of them. :-)
