I would really appreciate a Qing Wen on the character 尽. How to differentiate between jìn and jîn, and especially how it functions as a single character in a sentence.

Interesting, thank you.

I haven't read the book, actually; do you know enough about the story to know why this character, looking in a mirror, would be related to being blamed everywhere?

I looked through these comments, but I didn't see an explanation of the pig character/mirror idiom.

"猪八戒照镜子,里外不是人"

Could someone please translate and explain?

Thank you!

"政府要绿化上海。"

Could you give some specific examples of what policies or actions this would be indicating?

Does this mean planting more trees and creating more parks?

Implementing a recycling program?

Limiting cars within the downtown?

I am confused if this "greenify" is purely indicating "ecofriendliness" or has an implication plants and green spaces as well.

Thanks.

你让我发疯了。

I would like to know, can this sentence have the sexual connotation that "You make me crazy" could in English, or only the "you really annoy me" connotation?

Thanks.

I wasn't trying to give a comprehensive list of all the measure words for "building." But I remember being very confused by 一楼 versus 一号楼 and stevemisch seemed to be too. I just gave the example so there could be "one building; building #1; the first floor."

How would you expand the sentence, "还有,这些帮我复印一下。"

to ask: "Photocopy these for me: I need five copies, collated, and please staple them when you're done." ?

stevemisch:

一栋楼: one (m.w.) building

一号楼: building #1

一楼: the first floor
