In American culture, for example, we're used to just apologizing that we have to leave the party early. It's obvious that we're leaving "first" (or "before") everyone else, but we don't feel the need to say it. The end goal is to show respect to the host.
The Chinese however, don't always explicitly apologize for leaving early, but it's their custom to show respect to the host by acknowledging that they are leaving "first."
This is an issue of what we call "pragmatics" in linguistics. It's not really an issue of vocabulary or grammar; it's how the language is used to achieve certain purposes.

装 is frequently used by itself to mean 假装.

but 我比較看 doesn't work. The 比較 modifies the 想; it doesn't work directly before the 看.
