Kyle, I don't know whether the Arab states invented printing or not, but I do know that Koreans were the first to use moveable-type printing. I got points taken off an exam by a professor who still believes Gutenburg was the first in the world. Anyway, it wasn't as useful in Korea as in Europe because they were using hanzi. Even with moveable type, it's not easy to print a book in hanzi. :P Okay, sorry for the rabbit trail. . . How can I say, "I enjoy writing poetry." If I say, 我的爱好是写诗歌, does that mean "compose poetry" (my intended meaning) or does that mean "write out someone else's poems by hand" (not at all my meaning). Anybody know?

To each his own.

In this sentance, my meaning is "I think that Wang Wei will soon date Yang Jie." Is my sentance anything close to correct?

Henning, I'm in Korea and the double-eyelid thing is a big deal here. People consider that "Asian" eyes are "single-eyelid" and Western eyes are "double-eyelid." Seems like lots of women, even men, are trying to get double-eyelids. Even the Korean president is reputed to have had plastic surgery on his eyes. Honestly, I can hardly tell the difference before and after, but people seems to think it makes their eyes look larger. Go figure. . .

Ok, here is my attempt to translate my Korean to Chinese for the rest of you. :P Beware of errors!

That's okay, Kyle. Istudied Korean for years and never learned my shapes. Finally, I was chatting in Korean with a friend and asked her to teach me. She just laughed and said basically "Three-side-shape, four-side-shape, five-side-shape."
