Changye, Thanks for the fantastic answer. As always, so helpful. Actually, I tried matsutake once, but not knowing what they were. It was a long time ago, and I'll have to seek them out again. Mmm, the pictures in your links look luscious. Recently, I've been eating an exceptional 해물파전 absolutely filled with squid, octypus, oysters, and green onion. Unbelievably fantastic!

Changye, when I first came to Korea 3 1/2 years ago, I could already read Korean somewhat well, and could speak a little bit. I do think that Korea still has signs mostly in Korean only. I'm like a fish in the water, so to speak. I don't notice the absence of English, but when my sister visited from the Philippines she was amazed. So far, I've had no problems in Korea. Almost never gotten lost, never gotten scammed. . . But that bred overconfidence in me. When I visited Dallas, Texas last year, I was immediately dreadfully lost in dangerous neighborhoods, scammed by unscrupulous taxi drivers, and offending the locals with my rude Asian manners. And, yes, I am an American!

Changye, what do you think of Korean-style sashimi, i.e. eaten with 고추장 (fermented red pepper paste)? And what's your opinion of Korean-style sushi, i.e. 김밥. 김치, 참치, and 치즈 (kimchi, canned tuna, and processed cheese) seem to be the most popular flavors!

I'm in a bit of a rush today--started my first conversational Chinese class this morning at 6:50 AM--so this is in English. Anyway, Chanye and Connie, thanks for the help. I think I got it now. BTW--that "mysterious" sentence is from the Expansion section. Thus, however inappropriate the sentiments may be, I entirely blame ChinesePod. :-)

Going back to the "连。。。 都" which appears twice here. 连国旗都不认识 "Even the flag also don't recognize" 连这点常识都没有 "Even this common knowlege also don't have"
