August 6, 2022 at 7:41 AM适合 and 合适 both have the same meaning but they are grammatically different. 合适 is adjective and 适合 is a verb. You can say 这件衣服不适合你, but not 这件衣服不合适你.

So the expression 过了这个村就没这个店了 literally means "if you pass this village there will not be another store like this", and this is used to tell people to grab the chance to do something. The translation in the grammar section is focused on the meaning of the entire sentence in this particular context so it looks very different from the literal translation.
