Hello Sean, what Jenny said was the sheng1 升 in sheng1cang1 升舱 is like in the phrase wang3shang4shen1 往上升 (to upgrade, to move up a level) not wang3shang4 网上. These two phrases can be confusing indeed!

You can think of it this way, the English name "black tea" refers to the color of the dark dry tea leaves instead of the color of the tea!

For more advanced listeners who are not easily influenced by "not so standard" pronunciations, I believe this podcast is worthy of listening. However, newbie or beginners might imitate Ken's accents under the false impression that they are correct, which is the reason why users asked for a redo on this podcast.

If you would like to say "what did you eat", then you have to use "了". A sentence you can say for this is "你吃了什么?"

Interesting question! 上大学 specifically means "to go to college" and it refers to the period when somebody is studying in the college. It's not just about the location. If you would like to say "at college", then “在大学里” would be a better choice of words.

Yes that is definitely correct! If the object is already clear from the context then you can omit it!
