The difference between [eng] and [en] can be quite unnoticeable most of the time. Some native speakers, depending on the accent and dialects of course, might even pronounce them as the same. So this is definitely a common phenomena to mix them up.

嗯这个名字听起来有一点奇怪,因为”鹿“跟“路”的发音是一样的。另一方面呢,鹿是一个不太常见的姓氏,所以这个名字听起来很特别!

Hi Peter, thank you for your comment and that is a very interesting perspective! Although video lessons can be more engaging and interesting, sometimes excessive visualizations can turn into distractions and lead to cognitive overload, which negatively affects our learning. In this sense, the podcast format is great for learners that might be distracted by the visuals so that they can focus more on the content and the pronunciations.
