good format. Good subtitles for the conversation and the presenters did a good job of staying on topic, with additional stories to explain the term. The review of idioms and having the expansion and vocab repeat the idioms is good progress.

全球新冠肺炎确诊人数已超过127万,病亡人数逾7万

confirmed cases of COVID-19 has exceeded 1.27 million, and caused around 70 million deaths.

These are U.S. numbers.  (70 Thousand, not million)

in Chinese, it seems like it implies world numbers; the English translation does not specify US or World. BTW these are US numbers not world.

Because Chinese use a different decimal system for numbers, please help us learners to become more familiar by using precise translations.

1,270,000

127  ten thousand

70,000

7 ten thousand

agreed

please do not use so long of intro music.  Also, you can hear unintentional street noise.

Hi All

新陈代谢
xīnchéndàixiè
metabolism

Thank you for this - it is a good vocabulary, and I would not have understood by reading it.

Is there a background to how this got translated? (not based on sound - is there a connection to the meaning of the characters?)

in the full lesson it seems like it is more of an explaination of metabolism, then the word its self.

Also translated as:

新城代谢 xī chéng dài xiè metabolism

and

代谢 dài xiè metabolism

agreed.  Please provide a better explanation.

The presenters discuss the literal meaning.

I think the English definition is wrong or misleading or imprecise. Spill the tea (T) - to share gossip or private details (a hidden Truth)

Can you further explain?

"Likewise, 吃瓜 is a short form for 吃瓜群众 ("onlookers who are interested in the spectacle but don't have anything knowledgeable to say about it")"

I read instances of online comments using 吃吃瓜 that were then critical of the topic.

It is trolling?

General audience?

agreed.

The double negative is tricky to start.  Harder to understand in a foreign language and then not sure if it is or is not a mistake can get frustrating.

Thanks for asking.  I like the traslation: It's a bit hard--well-known advertising companies have high requirements and not so well-known advertising companies are unable to offer the compensation you want." That makes the most sense in english and based on context.

But based on the chinese characters, it looks double negative - but the mean is is still "not able to pay"

so the 没什么名气的广告 must mean less famous (not no famous companies)

Not all of the vocabulary words are listed?

I think a grammar tab (there used to be one) would have also helped.

Also, you could have used some of the temperature dialogue to explain the degrees.
