对了，咳嗽还可以用梨（pear）和冰糖（rock suger）加水一起煮，然后把煮出来的水喝掉，煮过的梨也可以吃掉。

P.S  Peal the pear and remove the seed inside. Just cut the pear into pieces.

为什么每次出去吃饭都是我买单，他却一毛不拔？

哦。。。 呵呵！

这个在中文里叫歇后语。

歇后语是中国人民群众在生活实践中创造出来的一种特殊的语言形式。它一般由两个部分组成，前半部分是形象的比喻，后半部分是解释说明。

这个歇后语的原句是这样的：

铁公鸡----- 一毛不拔.

这个比喻是很形象的。因为铁公鸡是没有毛的，所以you can never get even one "hair" (feather) from a iron cock.

As you may know, 毛 also means 10 cents in Chinese.

This is just a figure of speech. If people who is really mean or stingy, they are usually compared to a "iron cock 铁公鸡"。You can say the whole sentence, or just a part of them, people will fully understand it means someone is really cheap, mean or stingy.

比如说：

小王跟朋友出去吃饭，从来不付钱。他真是个铁公鸡！

yes, 这两个review是复习每周那两个中级课的。

但是如果你觉得课太少，I would suggest you to post some sentences or even a passage here using the new word or phrases you've learned during the week. Then I can let you know if their need some corrections about it.

Also, I think the way you mentioned last time which is to try to write down the dialogue without looking at the PDF but just from listening, will even more productive as time goes by, as long as you keep up with it. You may feel a bit frustrated at first, but later you may find it a huge improvement.

"头" litterally means "head", but it can also be used as a mesaure word for animals like "一头牛", "一头大象",　＂一头猪＂. The "一"　in the phrase is usually ommitted in spoken language.

For example,

他真是头懒猪－－－　He's really a lazy pig.

他真是只馋猫－－－He's really a gluttonous cat.

2) 住　can be followed by a real object or a nominal object, while 居住 can only be followed by a nominal object.

For example,  可以说　"住人"，＂住宾馆＂，＂住别墅bie2shu4 (villa)＂,  ＂住一个月＂．

不可以说"居住人" "居住宾馆", 但是可以说 "居住三个月以上".

居 is actually not a word, but just a root of a word which has the meaning of "to live". So it can not be used singly.

Here is the differencre between "居住"and "住":

1)  居住 is more like reside in or dwell in English.

   ---- To live in a place for quite a long period of time, or for an extended period or even for permanently.

住 --- to live (in a place no matter how long it is. )

For example, one can say

我在北京已经居住了三十年了 or 我在北京已经住了三十年了．

One can say 昨天晚上我在朋友家住了一夜，　but can not say 昨天晚上我在朋友家居住了一夜．

和居有什么不一样？

平时，

有时， 都很有用! 谢谢!
