When you upgrade your subscription you will have your previous subscription remaining time credited to your new subscription.
For example, user has already consumed 3 months of his 1 year Premium Package service and wanted to upgrade to a year of Praxis service.
1 Year Premium = $240 ($20/month)
1 Year Praxis =$299
Months Consumed = 3 X $20 = $60
Total Credit = $240 - $60 = $180
Total Amount = $299 - $180 = $119
All upgrade payment must be processed through payment request form. For more information please contact the ChinesePod customer service representative at ChinesePod@gmail.com

I feel like this must have been answered before, but how does the pro-rating work if someone upgrades a CPod premium account to a Praxis Pass? If I click on "upgrade account", it looks like it would charge me the full $299. That's a completely awesome deal, but I still have several months of premium subscription that I would hate to lose the benefit of.

@light487, was that GeekPOD? The geek culture certainly could do with some explaining :)

I also find the other pods attractive because I would like to learn more about other cultures, even if I dont take a real serious swing at learning the language. Do they have shows similar to Dear Amber?

Am waiting for the Italianpod, like Aunty Sue. I used to be fairly fluent. Would like to get back into the language. And maybe French on top of everything? Maybe I should become a full-time language learner. Wonder who would pay salary for such a job...

Good on ya Bazza! Polish is not for me, but it's a great language, I could listen to it all day. Of course what I'm really really holding out for is Cantonese, but everyone knows that by now. I'm sure I've mentioned it once or twice :-)
Our very best chance of getting Polish and Cantonese etc on the boards one day, is to make sure that French and Italian are a roaring success right now. Aaah, but it doesn't hurt to wish a little bit too, does it. ;-)

Light487: Sure, around Sydney there's only a few little pockets of Spanish speakers (lovely people, I wish there were more), and French speakers are rare as hens teeth. (Despite this, our grandmothers were forced to study French at school. Crazy.)
Me, I'm hanging out for ItalianPod. There's a lot of Italians in Sydney, as you know, and even more of them in Melbourne. Italian restaurants, here I come! And wouldn't it be nice to be able to go to Paddy's near closing time and say "look, those leftover tomatoes are all bruised, only good for sauce, how much for the whole box?" ... "thanks a lot mate!" -- in Italian!
Best wishes FrenchPod for a great launch and then years of community that keep getting more exciting as you grow.

太好了!我没看见chinesepod的开办,但是有Frenchpod的时候我会是先行看到啊。
Tre bien! J'ai manqué la grande ouverture pour chinesepod, mais je suis ici pour la grande ouverture de Frenchpod ..... Praxis Land woohoo!
Awesome! I missed the grand opening of Chinesepod, but at least I'll be here for the grand opening of Frenchpod. Woohoo Praxis Land!
Chevere! Me perdí la gran apertura de Chinesepod, pero al menos voy a estar aquí para la gran inauguración de Frenchpod. Woohoo Praxis Landia!
Well.....the Chinese and French versions of this may be a bit off, but seriously....I want to be fluent in many many languages and with "Praxis Landia" I actually feel like I'm starting to do just that!

Cool! On the 'Your Account' page in the 'Manage Account' section, you guys may want to fix your typo on the Praxis --> 'What is this?' help overlay. At the end it says:
For a monthly subscription of $45 you get full access Premium Accounts to ChinesePod and ChinesePod.
First, of all, it appears that it should match your new rate of $39 [Cool :-)] and reflect ChinesePod, SpanishPod and FrenchPod rather than 'ChinesePod and ChinesePod'!
Finally, please tell me that's not a typo that the 6 month Praxis pass is only $19 more than a ChinesePod Premium pass [$169 vs. $150]. Awesome!

I think I'll wait till next month to upgrade to Praxis Pass.. I wanted to see if I "gel" with French first using my 7 day premium trial. When I tried SpanishPOD, I just didn't "gel" with the language. It's a great site and much the same in format as ChinesePOD but I just couldn't get into it in the same way.
May be also it had something to do with a desire/motivation thing as well. I tend to come in contact with a lot more Chinese people during my normal daily life in Sydney than I do Spanish people; and also it is the same with French people.. except that my Mum studied French at uni for 4 years and my Aunty is fluent in French.. so I may be able to "gel" with it a little more.
Only time will tell..

Finally I can expand my French ability beyond the French I learned as a child in Canada reading the cereal boxes over breakfast.

May 12, 2008 at 04:31 AMI just went and checked out frenchpod.com.While I'm not interested in learning french, the site has one feature that chinesepod lacks. They have a show that takes music and breaks it down. I go over to youtube and load up some mandopop videos, open another tab and go to mandarintools.com's character dictionary. I then play, pause, switch, look up, say " Ah ha", play again ect.
I've learned a ton from doing this.
