Coincidentally it was my office's moving day today as well. We are only moving up the street to nearby Wynyard train station (we were near Town Hall train station up until today). It's on George St which is one of the more known streets in Sydney. The best things about our new place will be that it's even closer to the train station, there are more shops nearby, the air-conditioning is apparently 500 times better (woo!) and there are 4 elevators instead of 3. Oh yeah.. and we get bigger LCD monitors as well.. other than that I don't know a lot about it.. Only the managers have actually been in the new building.. but we move in on Monday. :)

Thanks! Hmm, not sure if the view from my window will be as spectacular as from the Pearl Tower. I will post a pic on Monday and we'll compare!

P/s: If you look carefully at the Lead Lion, it's actually Patricia, changye's lovable dog! The LDT coordinator gave a huge discount because changye offered to provide her services free of charge. Only problem is, now they want to hire her permanently!

All the best for the move! May you all be very happy in CPOD's new home. I've just sent a text message to the lion dance troupe's coordinator, the lions, drums, firecrackers, and giant congratulatory flower displays will be arriving in about about five minutes. Hope you like them!

Henning, I haven't unless the new office is at the top of the Pearl Tower. ;)
Here is a wider shot from the top of the Jinmao Tower.
(I like going to the top of towers. ;) )

Nice photo Bazza!
I presume the move's to make more room for the new French/Japanese/etc.Pods. You'll have to show us some pics of it.
By the way, am I right in thinking this gives Bazza yet another excuse to visit CPod again... :)

Hitokiri6993,
A creek is only a river in chinese.
Btw, I was just looking at wikipedia and was surprise to read that the real name of what is called the Suzhou river (苏州河) seems to be the Wusong river (吴淞江). Is 吴淞江 the pre-revolutionary name ?

That's one big creek! Bazza, what I love most about your photo is that it is somewhat of a self-portrait. I can see the reflection of your hands and camera in the lower right corner....can't make out the camera though!
CPod, good luck with the move. I'm a bit sad I'll never get to see the "old" studio - it sounded like it had so much character.

I hope your move goes a lot better than mine did. In particular, take care of your back, if you damage it the game's over. Also good food and drink plenty of water, and stay away from people with the flu. Don't ask me how I know all these things, please, not this week.
;-)
Good luck for a smooth move.

@ Light487,
Ok, it's about guessing an idiom with 4 characters (四个字) and Chengyu (成语).
Here is the breakdown with 8 四个字 but only 2 real 成语 at the end :
猛鬼出笼 fierce devil come out of its cage
发财猪手 chinese dish with a pig leg
弱智儿童 retarded child
(李小龙 Bruce Lee in chinese)
猛龙过江 fierce dragon cross the river
抓不到痒 can't itch far enough
过来打我 to use with moderation
死气沉沉 sort of depressed mind
苦尽甘来 metaphor of happiness, after hard-time comes happy-time

I suspected it to be this week (and speculated about it with 阿姨68). There have been many indicators for that during the last couple days.
I keep my fingers crossed that everything goes smooth and hope the move to the "Praxis Tower" will mark the begin of a new, even greater era.

April 18, 2008 at 08:24 AMOh yeah! During my move I spotted some more Chinese people in another department that I didn't know were in our company. So I will have to seek them out at the new building and see they speak mandarin so I can practise on them.. hehe.. they can be my guinea pigs... :)
