iPad/iPhone app crashes

Since this morning, your iPad and iPhone apps crash everytime whenever I try to go Self-Study section: it goes to "downloading" and then crashes. Tried many times with both iPad and iPhone, with 2 different Wi-fi networks, with and without VPN - the same result.
I've commented before on the poor quality of your apps but since today I can't be used at all!
The only reason I'm subscribed to cPod is because of the ability to study on the road with those apps. If they don't work, there is no reason for me to continue buying your services. I think this is true for many subscribers.
Do you have any plans to get those apps working again?

Val

Good to know. We are working hard here on the apps...so many platforms and devices to provide for does make it tricky!

Hi guys. So sorry for this. Found this problem on my own this morning (Shanghai time), but knew there would probably be posts on this. This was NOT our iPhone app nor the developer's fault. This is my fault, the Android developer who added a few variables to the API which both apps shared, and I assumed wrong that the iPhone app could parse it. This has been fixed. So sorry for the inconvenience.

I have the same problem. Very frustrating! The most unstable piece of software I have ever used.
I am running an older version on my iPhone which was essentially perfect until lately but now does not clean up the "Self-Study" list and is out of sync with the web view. At least it does not crash.
On my iPad I mistakenly updated the app to the latest version and today it crashes when downloading the "Self-Study" list.
ChinesePod is an excellent learning tool. The whole team is fantastic. The ChinesePod web site has evolved into a great tool that completes the audio lessons very well.
But I also depend on the iOS App (use on iPhone & iPad) a lot. I don't understand how such a buggy product can be released.
Does anybody at ChinesePod use this App?
Regards,
Marc.

February 05, 2013 at 02:11 AMHi,
I've just updated the new version of Cpod app on my iPad and iPhone and it seems like a major improvement compared to the last version. The upgrade didn't erase my previous downloads (like previous updates did) and it's quite stable so far. The new version hasn't crashed on me yet since the update 2 days ago!
I'm happy to see that cPod is back on track with this app. Good job, cPod developers!
