Thanks Peter - mine is also working fine now. We were gasping for breath here for a while; you know how it is for ChinesePod addicts. :)

ps I initially posted that screen pic on flickr and then tried to embed it in the above post but to no avail. Is flickr blocked in China? If not, is it not possible to post pics from flickr on CPod any more? Any tips?

Ah, perhaps it has to do with Flickr's hotlinking changes... I remember reading about them, but I'm not familiar with the details. I guess I just default to "stupid GFW" whenever I have network problems :)

Hmm, interesting. I can say hand on my heart, I don't recall a single occasion when I couldn't access Flickr photos on my laptop - I don't have any intermittent problem. (We have spoken before about disparities around the nation - perhaps that has something to do with it.) But since Flickr updated their site I have been unable to upload photos to ChinesePod. I thought that it may be something to do with Flickr (they tightened their requirements somehow I assume for legal reasons) - but it is not to do with Flickr being blocked, is it, if I have no problem viewing them on a computer in China?

I see Peter responded about the problem itself already, but unfortunately regarding an image hosting service I'm really not sure. It seems like every one that gets to a decent scale gets blocked. :(

thanks johnb for getting back to me. Do you have a suggestion for a website you can post photos to so you can embed them on the CPod boards? Further, were you able to open my attachment so you could read the message I get on itunes?

thanks for letting me know mate. I can stop looking for itunes solutions on my end. itunes seems to be working fine for everything else including I just noticed a FrenchPod lesson come through.

Flickr is sort of blocked in China. Some (but not all) of its image hosting servers are blocked (have been since the big paraxylene plant protests in Xiamen in 2006). It's frustrating, because it will seem like it totally works some days, and then be completely fubared others.

And incidentally I now have the same problem with my i-Tunes.

Actually, since Google introduced Buzz I have dreamed of a system for attaching photos that works as well as in Buzz. Okay, ChinesePod is not Google, or not last time I looked. :)

Flickr is not blocked in China, but I have not been able to post photos on ChinesePod for some time, I have no idea what the problem is. I used to have no problem, and now they don't seem to take. I don't know if it is changes to Flickr (which did occur about the time my problems started) or to ChinesePod. I'd love to know the answer to this little dilemma. It was just wasting too much of my time so I gave up searching for an answer.
