Android App - Flash Card Sync

Hi Team,

FYI - I have never been able to get my flash cards to sync. Lessons and comments seem to work fine but I just get a sync failed message everytime I try the flash cards.

I have just under 820 cards in 41 groups/labels. Could I have hit some sort of limit as to how much data or how many cards/groups the app likes to download in one go?

Thanks

Discovered problems:

  • Flashcards added through the ChinesePod website are all simplified despite being in traditional mode.
  • Removing flashcards through the website does not remove them from the Android app when using 'sync'
  • The only way to remove the flashcards is to sign out / sign-in.
The App should:
  • Obtain my Traditional Chinese setting from the website __OR__
  • Allow me to choose between traditional or simplified Chinese in the App Settings
Wishlist:
  • Make the "+" button for adding flash cards twice the size it is really unresponsive.
  • Add "slide" left/right browsing to the dialog sentences same as the Iphone App. The characters in the main dialogue screen are hard to read (small) so I always click zoom on a sentence. I don't want to have to go back, and then to the next sentence.

Sorry hamshank, I must have typed the link incorrectly (I was the person that updated the page... :$). Unfortunately we're on holiday and I can't publish an update to the link. The correct link, however, is http://chinesepod.com/data/SubscriberEdition.v2.0.7.apk

Bump....The link on this site for v2.07 apk is still linked to a 2.06 file download.

That is really disappointing for me. I was really looking forward to getting the latest release on my phone but like you I need traditional.

Still progress is progress...

PS...I just went to get the latest version to fix the pinyin but when you click the download link on the website it is linked to a version 2.06.apk

I just noticed that the 2.0.7 update was available through the Android Market.

First impression:

  • I can download my flashcards again
  • PinYin seems no longer messed up
  • The list of lessons matches my lessons in the Dashboard.
Will play with it on the way to work this morning.

The App was actually workable in the train this morning. A first for me.

Only glitch was that all my existing flashcards had been "simplified". But adding new traditional keywords seems to work.

Hi hamshank, our tech team have determined what is causing this problem. They will release the fix with the Android 2.0.7 update later this week. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I've got the same problem on Android. I have only 1 label and 30 something words. It doesn't work either.

Upon hitting "sync", I always get "Your account has not been sync. Check the network and try again"

Any pointers on how to get it work. This is the major reason why I got a subscription, and now turns out it doesnt work, quite a disappointment.

Thanks,

VN
