February 23, 2008 at 1:43 AMchangye: I agree with you that 卓别林, is not a very good TRANSLITERATION, and 查普林 is a much better transliteration coming far closer to approximating the English pronunciation. However I kind of like using 谱 pu3 (Music, Musical Score) because Chaplin's movies were silent, set to music or a musical score. "喳谱琳", 这个音译怎么样？

February 23, 2008 at 7:07 PMHi michele: Just to let you know, when you use a double 看看 that in itself is the meaning of 看一下。 You can say 看看， 看一看 or 看一下。 你的句子多了一个“看”。
