About swearing: The director fo the Waiban here who is in charge of my stay at this university has taken an interest in teaching me a few Chinese words that can not be used in polite company. But I think got him back because when he was with his boss a few days ago, I used one of the words. They both broke out laughing. Oh well, I am not a very student so it seems.

I fully agree with ccclim: Changye has provided us a great amount of useful information: Thank you or perhaps I should say 谢谢!

I favor Jenny's father. Going AA and having people argue over who ate and drank is a great definition of a cheapskate. I hate going out on a business or social meal and having people fight over how much they should not have to pay. At at end someone gets stuck for the taxes because no one was willing to admit that ate taxes. Divide the bill evenly and be done with it: sometimes you pay more; sometimes you pay less. It all works out in the end.

RJBerki I am teaching Advanced Dynamics to a group of Professors and Graduate Students in Qinhuangdao. When I start talking in CHinese, I used to get the "look." Now they just laugh at me. :(

Somebody must be following me! I have had to buy batteries twice during the past week. My watch stopped and I had to buy a new battery for it. The the batteries went out in my GPS. Both times, I was successful in buying batteries. I already knew the work for battery so that helped greatly.
