I have been working with Vera in my practice plan on directional complements and resultative verbs which seem to be what many of you are asking for in Qing Wen. There are sooo many of them. I agree that it would be great to do a series on Qing Wens on these verb suffixes. Connie, Vera already has a bunch of lesson material and examples on this for your consideration. And ba and bei constructions are always worth reviewing again and again. I really enjoy Qing Wen. Thanks.

Could it also be translated as meaning, "What does it matter if I don't go to class with you." If not, can you give me the correct Chinese for the latter meaning so I can compare the two. Thanks.

March 17, 2008 at 9:56 AMYes, Vera is adorable, and such a great teacher! I'm always amazed at her patience and ability to decipher what I'm trying to say. Great to hear her on DA! She's a treasure. And speaking of treasures, how about Josh! I was amazed how poised he was and how easily he shared his Chinese with us. Wow! The rest of us might feel a little intimidated, but Josh was so at ease. And thanks for sharing your pictures, Alice. We all feel like we are experiencing China vicariously through you. I love it when we get to hear other Poddies' voices to go along with their faces and their comments. I always look forward to reading your posts, and now they will be that much more meaningful.
