I still want to know where the phrase frying someone's squid comes from.

So romantic. This dialogue also reminded me of this Jolin/David Tao collaboration..

I recognize the song in the background (Isn't it a rap song?). Does anyone know the name?

I've always got the impression that sandwich meat (at least what I think of as sandwich meat) is not readily available in China. Is that true?

From the way it was explained to me, while I lived in China, the military training is something akin to boy scouts or girl scouts in the U.S. The goal is to foster teamwork skills and discipline among the students. Although most of my students usually complained about the experience, heh.

Also, I have agree with the earlier comments about Cassie's English. I can only hope that one day my Chinese will approach that level of comfortability.

The many different ways of saying play (an instrument) in Chinese seems to be one case where English trumps Chinese in simplicity. Are there any examples of verbs that we (English speakers) have many words for that the Chinese do not? Just curious.

Are there any other Chinese alternatives to Baidu? Also, money issues aside, I was wondering if anyone knows how Baidu creates search results? Is it something akin to page rank? It seems strange that Baidu would employ the old model of letting companies pay for higher placement which hurt most non-Google search engines in the U.S.
