September 6, 2009 at 7:35 PMyunmei--if they did it for every other country, Chinesepod would be FREE. Not the best business plan. If the Irish co-founder of CPod wants to boost his country of origin, he gets to do that. My solution is to look around for another program (not necessary learning chinese) that favors some special trait of mine--short, blue-eyed women who hum incessantly, for example.

June 13, 2009 at 3:30 AMMark, I agree. These sort of QWs are a combination of rule book, phrase book, and crib sheet (with the answers to all the questions). To me, they're extremely valuable.
onetone, I have a life. That's the point. I'm an editor and this is what editors do. And there's no need to be rude.

June 13, 2009 at 1:40 AMOh, man! I'm about to be rude. I haven't listened to the podcast yet, so I can't lead with a compliment, and the editor in me can't let the first few lines of the description go by.
To Do' is such a versatile and super important verb in the English language. You don't get off that light with Mandarin - the Chinese have a plethora of verbs for 'to do.'
If one uses such or so in a phrase, one needs to say something afterward to finish off the sentence. E.g. To Do is such a versatile and important word in the English language that 什麽什麽什麽(shen2me shen2me shen2me). (that we at Chinesepod must show you how to express those locutions in Mandarin too.
You don't get off that light with Mandarin. No! Mandarin students don't get off light. We get off lightly. Or we don't get off lightly.

June 8, 2009 at 12:07 AMI'm close to getting wlcp to work on my WinMo 6x iPAQ and HTC Touch Pro, and I port my cpod vocab over to PlecoDict for flashcards, so I'm set. But still, I'm wondering why not develop an app for WinMo? Are there so many fewer WinMo users? Is it so much more difficult? Is it because there's no Microsoft equivalent to the iTunes store? (And is the Microsoft store up and running yet? Does it charge fees to developers and, if so, how do they compare to Apple's itunes store fees?)

May 23, 2009 at 8:25 PMBobt2062--How does selling biodegradable disposable forks and spoons qualify as a defection from CPod? Even if she *had* gone to work for a direct competitor, she's entitled, but disposable forks? Ummm.

September 9, 2009 at 1:37 AMThe babysitter and I were Trekkies.
Today, the babysitter is waiting for her first grandchild to arrive.
How do you say, "What goes around, comes around" in Chinese?
