April 29, 2008 at 9:08 AMNice 請問。 Never realized that 啊and 呀 were more feminine. I just thought that the were used to express surprise,exclamations, warnings etc. May be over time they are used more by females than males. Clay has a girlfriend??? When do we get to see some pictures of the new office, or even an office tour video???

The book is fantastic, it helps me to write some of the more complicated characters, as I am using the traditional Chinese writing. April 22, 2008 at 11:31 PMLight is right!!!!!! Well done. Even my book states: （regarding xin1 辛 to mean bitter) 'The student should be careful to distinguish it from xing1 "be lucky" 幸' (The book being 'reading and writing chinese'... mine's the trad one)

I have listened to the Qing Wen lesson reduplication of verbs, and I also have a book called 'A guide to proper usage of spoken chinese' and that has some information. It also has a verb-le-verb constuction. i.e. 他 推了推我 ， 我看了看他 I think I might have got the gist of the reduplication of verbs, I'll write down the 在 rule and put it in my Chinesepod file. Also When are we going to get pictures of the new office?? I've read you post in another conversation. Sounds like you have a nice shiny new office. Thanks again Sarah

I already mentioned this on the other 請問 辛苦。 ;) I hope my using Traditional instead of Simplified, doesn't cause confusion. Just That I use Traditional to chat to my Taiwanese friend, and when I write out the lessons, I find the traditional forms and use them.
