July 29, 2010 at 1:42 PMThere is a small clique that comes to the comment section after all lessons, elementary included, who just start banging out sentences in Chinese characters. It was once suggested that pinyin would be used to supplement these sentences and even management agreed and staff started to type in pinyin and in characters for elementary and intermdiate clients who aren't s cool as Xiao Phil. Trust me, there are many nerds among us.

July 19, 2010 at 2:38 AMWow! My computer must be really confused. It is not handling any podcasts or streams or pics! Good news! Found another laptop to use while this one gets fixed. Qing Wen good as usual. Many fine "egg samples"!!!!!

July 18, 2010 at 8:33 AMYes Jenny. It looks like I am having watching youtube and uploading things too. My Freegate program is good, but something else is messing things up. Facebook pics will not upload now. One of my Chinese/Beijing students was trying to download some kind of "free texting" thing last week. Maybe this is the problem. I'll try tech support next week if this continues. Hate missing the podcasts.

July 18, 2010 at 7:19 AMClearly huh? Internet speed? I push the play arrow to begin the podcasts and they tell me that the podcast will last 3 seconds. Then I get Qing Wen music and OVER! The other podcasts are also lasting 3 or 4 seconds each. If the good people here have no advice, I guess I'll have to call tech support, but it is my nature to look for a quick fix.

July 16, 2010 at 4:58 AMAll (99%) of the apartment ads on the Beijinger are fake pics. The agents just lure you in with pics, then they show you crappy places. Also, the Beijinger ad prices are way higher than the going neighborhood rates. I suggest go to the international places of study for listings! Beijing Language and Culture University will have boards for foreigners. They also have a department at that is run by foreigners to help foreigners to get fair deals. It's on their website somewhere.
